The specialist knee surgeon that saved Alan Shearer, Michael Owen and Ruud Van Nistelrooy from early retirements due to injuries, Dr Richard Steadman, has revealed that Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves is now close to return to full fitness after spending the best part of two full seasons on the sidelines. 
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that Luis Antonio Valencia will only return in February after the ankle injury he sustained against Rangers in the Champions League.
