The Ginger Prince has retired. His retirement was a typical Paul Scholes announcement. Not when the season was on or before the final against Barcelona but when everyone had left for holidays and international duty.
It was sad that Paul Scholes' last game had to end in a defeat but his contributions will never be forgotten.
A proof of how Paul Scholes is admired by Barcelona players. Five FC Barcelona players wanted to swap shirts with Paul Scholes last night. Andrés Iniesta beat them all to it.
Scholes may have hung up his boots but will join United's coaching staff next season. A real bonus as he can help develop our young midfielders. Sir Alex said " Paul has always been fully committed to this club and I am delighted he will be joining the coaching staff from next season. Paul has always been inspirational to players of all ages and we know that will continue in his new role."
A testimonial will be played in August.
