He ruptured his Achilles tendon while playing for AC Milan and told a doctor, "Its broken, its broken". He went down without physical contact from the opponent in his match against Chievo in the closing stages of the match which Milan won 1-0.
Becks will be flown out to Finland to undergo surgery.
