He was secretly filmed allegedly passing three wraps of white powder to an undercover reporter in a bar’s lavatories. It was claimed he promised he would get more drugs for the reporter’s “friend” but begged him not to say where they came from.
It is further alleged that he said: “Don’t tell him I’m John Terry’s dad.”Police launched an investigation into last November’s incident at the Unit 4 winebar in Chafford Hundred, Essex. Detectives have seized and viewed video footage and taken witness statements.
On February 8 Ted Terry – who lives near the bar in a £250,000 house his son bought – attended a police station voluntarily with his solicitor. He was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and questioned for several hours before being released on bail.
