Wayne Rooney has revealed he has no plans to push son Kai into a football career - and would be happier if he became a rock star.
The England star also told how fatherhood was a bigger kick than his playing career, and children will be the talk of the dressing room each time the team gathers in South Africa at the World Cup finals.
In a joint interview before he set off for the South African campaign last week, he and wife Coleen posed on a bed surrounded by pillows decorated with the flag of St George - and the Manchester United striker told of his desire to win.
''I'm proud I'm English and I'm passionate about my country,'' he said.
''I want to win, it means a lot to me. It would be nice for Kai, and also for my family, the fans and the whole country.''
Rooney told how the England squad ''speak about our children all the time''.
''We're like old women talking about the kids when we meet up,'' he said. ''It's good telling each other what the kids have done, and how we've looked after them.''
Becoming a dad in November has also had a knock-on effect for his viewing habits, he admitted.
''Kai loves the cartoons so I enjoy watching those with him. He likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Tigger and Pooh. I'm starting to sing them to myself now though,'' Rooney said.
However he and Coleen also like to watch TV talent shows given the chance.
''The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, American Idol, all those shows I love. I think Simon Cowell is brilliant,'' he added.
