April's Manager and Player of the Month

Gareth Bale, the Tottenham Hotspurs defender is April's Player of the Month. He netted decisive goals consecutively against North London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in a London derby, both games with the scoreline ending up 2-1 in favor of the Lilywhites. He also set up Spurs' equalizer against Manchester United, which they eventually lost 3-1. This is Gareth's first time winning since his transfer from Southampton to Tottenham. He is the first Welshman to win this award since Ryan Giggs in February 2007.

Martin O'Neill has been named the manager of the month after The Villains revitalised their European hopes with four victories and a draw from their five matches in the Barclays Premier League during April.

O'Neill's men began the month with a narrow 1-0 victory away at Bolton Wanderers, before returning to home territory to claim a battling 2-2 draw with Everton. Two further wins on the road at Portsmouth and Hull City yielded maximum points.

Congrats to both of you!
