Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed defender Jonny Evans has agreed a new long-term contract at Manchester United.
Speaking to MUTV, the United boss said the 22-year-old had "proved himself" and had signed a new deal at Old Trafford.
It is not believed Evans has actually signed the new contract yet but an official announcement is expected later this week.
