Becks Adamant To Not Play in Farewell Friendly

World renowned football player David Beckham has said that he will refuse to take part in a farewell friendly match after he heard of the end of his England career via a recent television interview from Fabio Capello.

Beckham, now 35 and a former England captain, is reported to be feeling “disrespected, disappointed and dismayed” by comments made by Fabio in a section of an interview which was shown before England’s game with Hungary last Wednesday.

According to ‘The Sun’ newspaper, whilst Capello did not contact Beckham personally, his assistant Franco Baldini called him on Monday night, the day that the interview was filmed in order to explain to David that some comments had been made.

Baldini said that Capello had spoken about preparing for the future of the team by introducing some younger players to the squad. Before he viewed the interview with his wife Victoria in Los Angeles last Wednesday, Beckham seemed to be unaware of what was coming and said to reporters, “I’ve always said I won’t retire from playing for my country. Whether I play one more game or ten more games, I’ll be available.”
