Yesterday's El Clásico was living up to its expectation, which was goals but not quite for Real Madrid since Barcelona won 5-0 at the Nou Camp against Jose Mourinho's Los Blancos. It did get a little bit dirty though.
A fracas began when Ronaldo pushed Guardiola in the first half. Guardiola was having the match ball on the sidelines and
The incident came about when a ball went into touch and was picked up by Guardiola. When Ronaldo came to take the ball for the throw-in, Guardiola held the ball away from the player with this right hand. After Ronaldo spend a moment reaching for the ball, Guardiola flicked the ball away, along the sideline. As Ronaldo turned toward the ball, frustration was obvious in Ronnie's face and he pushed Guardiola away.
Note to Ronnie: If you were still at United, Fergie would have murdered you for that.
More fights came in stoppage time after Sergio Ramos fouled Lionel Messi. After his foul, all the players went to the referee with Ramos pushing his own Spain teammate, Carles Puyol causing the referee to show a red card to Ramos. In the video below, you can also see in the end, Gerard Pique fighting with his Spanish teammate, Iker Casillas
Controversy surrounds Real Madrid after both Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos received second yellow cards for time wasting. It seems that José Mourinho had orchestrated a devious plan to get both Xabi and Sergio so they would have a clean slate when Real Madrid (already qualified) play in the round of 16.
This video shows Mourinho instructing Xabi and a Real Madrid coach telling Casillas to whisper to Ramos about "something" . Iker can't even look at Sergio!
José Mourinho was clearly not happy when Sergio Ramos stepped up to the plate to score a penalty for Real Madrid.
According to Mourinho’s el número 2, Aitor Karanka, "Cristiano Ronaldo is the penalty taker, but Sergio Ramos approached him and told him he was feeling confident... Mourinho was surprised to realise what was happening as he likes to having everything under control."
Sergio Ramos did convert the penalty to make it 3-1. The video clearly shows Mourinho asking “Why did he take it?” and how much of a control freak he really is. If Mou is so angry for not listening to his instructions, imagine how pissed he might have been if Ramos missed?
Gerard Pique has been named the most sexiest man in Spanish football. Considering the top 15, the list consists those from Spain and involved in its domestic league. Pique came top with Xabi Alonso and Osvaldo from Espanyol. Fernando Torres' smile only brought him to 4th while Cesc Fabregas bagged 5th spot. Cristiano Ronaldo was named 6th most sexiest (Sorry Ronnie fans, he's not No.1) .
Sergio Ramos, David Villa, Fernando Llorente bagged 7th,8th and 9th respectively. Pep Guardiola was at tenth spot, the only coach in the top 10. Pochettino and Ocio were 11th and 12th while Bojan beat Sergio Canales for lucky no.13. Well, at least Sergio can take solace in beating his manager Jose Mourinho.
La Selección have received the prestigious Prince of Asturias award in the sports category with Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid, Xavi Hernández of Barcelona, Villarreal’s Joan Capdevila and Carlos Marchena, Athletic de Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente and Javi Martínez, Sevilla’s Jesus Navas, Valencia’s Juan Mata and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina were present to receive the award alongside Vincente Del Bosque.
Look at the guys. All suited up!
This award was given to La Roja after their success in South Africa during the 2010 World Cup.
Spain and Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has now caused a bit of a stir in Spain after a sarcastic quote may well add to the anti-Spanish sentiment among many Catalans.
Even those of you who don’t know much about Spanish history will be aware Basque separatism and no doubt also the strong Catalan identity which usually comes with diehard support of FC Barcelona. Many Spaniards particularly hate Catalans and view them as different people.
Andalusia, the birthplace of Ramos is not one of the areas that are very stern in its call for independence of even showing off their language Andalusia. Ramos is certainly one of them.
The journalist asked Gerald Pique to answer a question in Catalan, something the Barcelona player had no problem with.
When Pique asked whether he should translate his answer to Spanish, Sergio Ramos interrupted saying that his teammate should give his answer in 'Andalusian', since the journalist "had difficulties understanding Castilian".
Castilian is what the rest of the world call Spanish.
Right after the press conference, Ramos took a picture and posted it on his Twitter account with fellow teammate and Catalan, Gerard Pique. The Real Madrid fullback later told press he was only joking and“had no problem with Catalans or the Catalan language”which basically avoids any problems.
Sergio Ramos, Xavi Hernandez, David Villa, Fernando Llorente and Pepe Reina all partied till early Friday at David Guetta's weekly gig at Pacha nightclub in Ibiza. Wanna know the name of the party??? F*** Me, I'm Famous...Well, yeah!!
