As “come and get me” pleas go, José Mourinho only just stopped short of looking directly into camera and saying, very slowly: “Come and get me”.Instead, he settled for this:
“I am very happy with Inter but not in Italian football - I don’t like it and they don’t like me.”
“I love England and England misses me.”
But where next for The Special One? A hunch would suggest a three horse race between Man City, Liverpool, or even a shock return to Chelsea. Much will, of course, depend on how the run-in pans out for each club.
But my money is on Spain because José has said that he would like to be the first manager in history to win domestic premier league titles with England, Italy and Spain. He has done with England, on the way in Italy if he can keep up the pace which only leaves Spain out of the picture. After that, he wants to coach Portugal. So England? Probably after Fergie retires.
