Just when all of the chaos involving Liverpool F.C was going to reach an end, their not-so-popular owners Tom Hicks and George Gilett won a temporary restraining order to block a takeover deal.
After a day when the High Court ruled the club could be sold to the owner of the Boston Red Sox, a Texan court has granted the order and the American businessmen are now seeking $1.6bn in damages.
The pair have claimed to be the victims of an "epic swindle" - although it is not immediately apparent how a ruling in Texas can impact upon the London judgement.
Lawyers for Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett have attacked the club's biggest creditor, the Royal Bank of Scotland, claiming that it has used chairman Martin Broughton and the other independent directors as "pawns".
In a statement calling the episode a "grand conspiracy", law firm Fish & Richardson alleges RBS has "improperly used its influence" to prevent any sale that would allow Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett to recover any of their initial investment in the club.
"I will be very pleased when the process is complete," Mr Broughton told Sky News, adding that he had found "the right owners" in NESV.
Liverpool fans show their rage at Hicks and Gilett.
Martin Broughton not so at ease with the media pestering him outside the court.
These guys are idiots and this is coming from a Man United fan.
But not all fans of rivals are as sympathetic as me..
